Here on the farm and around Golden guess who is waking up from a long summer’s nap… Rhodophiala bifida Oxblood Lily Stretching, yawning and reaching towards the sun, these little beauties remind me that summer is on its way out. Across the South in late August, boy, oh boy, do we need these little guys’ annual message. Hang in there! Cooler temperatures are on their way. Just this morning next to the Golden post office, I spotted my first Lycoris radiata Red Spider Lily of the season. These wonderful bulbs are always such a huge delight when they surprise us with a bloom. Fall is on its way. I can hardly wait. Happy Labor Day Weekend!
