Congratulations to Cheryl Hodges of Union Grove Community, just outside of Gladewater, TX. She is our red spider lily photo contest winner! Cheryl has been gardening for 25 years and has transplanted multiplying red spider lilies around her yard. She said the following about growing red spiders: “…my tip would just be patience – they will perform in abundance and put a show on for you in the fall!” Below is Cheryl’s prize-winning photo:

Cheryl says about the picture and her garden, “My husband built my little garden shed several years ago, where the picture was taken, and fenced me in a flower garden there. I have a variety of flowers in it, plus all around our property. I like planting bulbs, they are so much easier to work with, and you know they will perform for you.”

Congratulations, Cheryl! Thank you to everyone who submitted a photo for the contest…we received many nice photos. We also appreciate everyone who voted and helped to make this red spider lily photo contest a success. Happy gardening!
