A Farm Favorite That Stands Alone

Crinum ‘Burbank’s White Queen’ has been one of Chris Wiesinger’s favorite bulbs at the farm. It puts on one massive, beautiful display in the spring — and all on its own in a wide-open field, it has withstood freezes below 20 degrees Fahrenheit and temperatures well over 100 degrees. With no irrigation, it continues to grow and bloom reliably.

A Patient Grower

The ‘Burbank’s White Queen’ is not a fast grower. After 10 years at the farm, there still aren’t massive amounts of baby bulbs. The parent bulbs grow to very large sizes, though. Perhaps that is what draws crinum lovers to this bulb — it is not as aggressive as other crinums and seems to fit better in spaces where you might not want a crinum to take over the whole bed.

The Bloom

Enjoy nine or more pure white flowers that furl back and show you all of their glory. This crinum is a late April to May bloomer, producing a stunning spring display that rivals any garden showpiece. The pure white petals open wide, creating an elegant, unforgettable sight.

Why This Crinum Is Special

Named after Luther Burbank, the legendary American horticulturist, this crinum represents the kind of tough, enduring garden plants that Southern gardeners have treasured for generations. Its combination of hardiness, beauty, and manageable growth habit makes it an exceptional choice for gardeners who want the drama of a crinum without the aggressive spread that some varieties are known for.
